The Deco Haus
The Bijou Overlay - Tourmaline Jet
A jeweled Deco overlay in tourmaline green on jet mesh.
The Bijou Tabard is a bold tribute to the graphic glamour of Art Deco design, hand-beaded with an Egyptian-inspired gemstone motif in luminous tourmaline against sheer jet-black mesh.
Cut in a classic tabard silhouette, Bijou is designed with a front and back panel joined by two side bands, allowing the piece to float easily over the body. The open sides create a fluid, modern line, while the vivid green beadwork against the dark mesh gives the piece a sharp, jewel-like intensity.
A dramatic layering piece for the modern muse — striking, versatile, and unmistakably Deco.

Styling Notes
Historically, beaded overlays were among the most versatile pieces in eveningwear — designed to be worn over slips, satin gowns, simple underdresses, or contrasting layers to create an entirely new look. In the 1920s and 1930s, this kind of sheer, embellished piece allowed a woman to transform the foundation garments already in her wardrobe into something striking for evening.
The Bijou continues that tradition. Worn over black, it becomes sleek and graphic; layered over ivory, silver, or deep blue, the beadwork takes on a completely different character. It is not simply a dress, but a wardrobe piece — made to be styled, re-styled, and worn over almost anything.

All of our mesh gowns are made by hand, so there will be some variation from piece to piece. We include individual measurements for each gown, but please refer to the above chart for general US sizing in inches.
The mesh gowns also have around 2 inches of extra stretch. For a classic, loose 1920's look....please size up. For a form-fitting look....please size down.
