The black-haired bob... it's one of the first things that comes to mind when people think of 1920's hairstyles. Therefore, the "black wig" is what most everyone turns to for any Deco-inspired event. Not anymore! We're here with some chic and (sometimes) easy-to-do hairstyles perfect for almost any event. Here are our top four hairstyle-picks guaranteed to turn heads!
1. The Chignon:
The first hairstyle we recommend is an elegant chignon. It's a true classic, especially for any evening event or wedding. Be warned however, you may want to practice this hairstyle once or twice before your event; it's a tough one to master.....but worth it! Since there are so many versions of this hairstyle, you may want to look online and scroll through a few different options. You can easily find one that suits your hair-length and outfit the best.
Another brilliant hairstyle that works very well for short-haired women is the "Twiggy Haircut". It's a cousin of the bob, but with an elegant and sophisticated twist that distinguishes it from the cliché wig. This hairstyle is completely and utterly foolproof, contrary to the challenging (yet beautiful) chignon. All this hairstyle requires is a deep side part on the side of your hair. Brush to frame the face, secure with hairspray, and voila! Your mod flapper look is complete.
3. The Faux Bob:
Our third Deco-hairstyle favorite is, of course, the "Faux Bob". It's modern, easy to do, and looks absolutely fabulous when paired with our Daisy Tiara. It also works well with many different hair lengths!
4. The Marcel Wave:
Finally, we have to include the "Marcel Wave". It's one of our favorite 1920's hairstyles. Of all the hairstyles we selected, this is by far the most representative of the 1920's. The traditional Marcel Wave works best with shorter hair, but there are many gorgeous finger wave up-do's that work well with longer hair. Either way, it's a hairstyle you ABSOLUTELY have to attempt. Simply beautiful!
I hope we helped you select the perfect hairstyle for your Deco-inspired event. If these hairstyles don't exactly fit the look you're striving for, there are plenty more on YouTube!
