Fashion Week Outfit Favorites: Party Edition

Besides the runways, Fashion Week street style and after-party looks are the
perfect inspiration for the upcoming season. They are edgy, daring, unique and sometimes a bit crazy – just how we like fashion! During the last few weeks, we were constantly on the hunt for outfits.....from ivy green faux fur coats to a modern interpretation of the girly flamenco skirt.

KARL LAGERFELD MEETS GREAT GATSBY

Hands down, this is THE fashionista outfit, the head-turner at the LFW closing party. It mixes a luxurious coat and sleek statement bag with the iconic “Karl Lagerfeld” gloves. For a feminine twist, choose a crystal embellished glove, or simply add a pearl hand cuff.
For the rest of the look, we’d keep it simple with a mesh black midi dress (or a navy blue blazer dress) and of course....heels!

COVER IT UP

While slip dresses are usually super glam paired with a lace bomber or leather jacket, this look creates a more subtle and modern vibe, which is perfect for a designer showcase event.
To master this look, choose a shiny silk slip dress plus a traditional, sturdy trench coat. If you like your coats a bit oversized, put a thin belt on top to create a silhouette to avoid the outfit being too baggy. Besides being chic, it’s also London weather proof.

CASUAL FLAMENCO

This is definitely a love/hate outfit!  However, because of its versatility you can play around with the different tomboy and feminine elements until you find the perfect match for your personal style.
The essentials for this look are a slightly oversized sweater or hoodie, lace up boots, and a belt bag (instead of the popular Gucci one, we recommend a Chloe or Alexander McQueen one). The bold purple color of the flared skirt will also let you get creative with the outfit’s color palette: go for a colorblock orange-purple mix if you’re feeling experimental.

METALLIC PASTELS

Another slip dress look we love is emphasizing the shine of the silk by matching it with jacket and boots.
This look features a lavender biker jacket with shiny purple boots, all in pretty pastels!   You can easily show off your inner princess while trying out something new. As well as the colors, the materials chosen for this outfit are very interesting too.  The silk with leather and velvet is a stunning combination!

MILITARY RED

When it comes to red dresses, the first go-to's are usually lavish gold and lace accessories (like Dolce & Gabbana), but if you’re ready to try out something new, we’ve got the look for you.
Pair a red midi or maxi dress with your favorite military jacket featuring a smart double breasted or a casual patchwork design.  Add heels and a tiny clutch as finishing touches. This outfit can work for any event from brunch meetings to afterparties.

SOFT KNIT & HEAVY BEADS

This is another favorite for our team. Instead of mixing colors or opposite silhouettes, the focus point is on the contrasting materials of soft, casual knit and gorgeous, heavy embellishment. To recreate it for a catwalk event or a 20’s inspired afterparty, rock a Great Gatsby Dress with an oversized sweater or turtleneck over it.  Although the gold dress with the cream sweater is beautiful, we also think a silver/baby blue or black/burgundy combo would work as well.
